It is Possible for Bacterial Vaginosis to be Cured For Good, Do Not Always Rely on Your Physicians Advice

When looking for information on bacterial vaginosis, doctors always say the same thing. Wear cotton underwear, don’t douche, wipe front to back, etc. This is a condescending stance for doctors to take, because it implies that the treatments would work if women just followed direction, instead of admitting that they suffer from chronic bacterial vaginosis.

One of the most disturbing things that I found was the statement, over and over again, that only women who have had multiple sexual partners were at risk for bacterial vaginosis. One site went so far as to state that women who have never had sexual intercourse were rarely affected. This is just another one of the road blocks that women encounter when trying to cure their bacterial vaginosis, and adds to their shame and embarrassment.

Time and time again, doctors insist on prescribing antibiotics. This treatment works for some bacterial vaginosis sufferers, but more often than not, the antibiotics don’t provide a cure. Despite being shown that this case of bacterial vaginosis won’t be cured by antibiotics, some doctors insist on trying multiple courses, only to have it fail again.

Doctors need to realize that if one course of treatment won’t work, it’s time to start looking at other thing in order to finally achieve a cure. What other disease can you think of where the cure fails so many people, yet no one sees a need to change the way they treat it.

If you really want to find a cure, then you need to find out what really causes bacterial vaginosis. Changes in the vaginal environment, such as a higher PH level, can make the bacteria that cause bacterial vaginosis thrive

For a lot of women, a cure can be found in taking a probiotic supplement They help to boost levels of good bacteria, and are found both in food and supplement forms. The more ‘good’ bacteria you have, the harder it is for the ‘bad’ bacteria to take over.

For those who cannot be cured either by antibiotics or probiotics, a more intensive alternative therapy is needed. For myself, I finally found the right combination of things that worked for me; to see what that was, check out my review “Bacterial Vaginosis Relief”.

Bacterial vaginosis, while largely dismissed as unimportant by the medical community, is a serious affliction that can seriously affect a woman’s self-esteem and quality of life. We shouldn’t have to try and find our own cures; we should be able to go to our doctors and get the help we need.
