Use of Herbal Remedies for Hormone Imbalance

by Good Health Guide on May 28, 2009

Hormone imbalance affects many women – and there is often something which can be done about it with herbs.

One of the top herbs for hormone imbalance is Agnus Castus. This herb is often used for monthly periods. It is also often used by women going through menopause – very successfully.

Try taking 2 capsules, or 40-50 drops of a Fluid Extract, before breakfast. Althought the herbs can be taken at other times, early in the day is ideal.

Agnus castus can be combined with other herbs to make a herbal compound. Other herbs used include ginger, cayenne pepper, milk thistle, squaw vine and dong quai.

Dong Quai is another herb often used by women. This herb is from the Eastern tradition. Dong Quai is one of the most popular herbs for women in China.

Try taking 1-2 capsules, three times a day, or 12-25 drops of a Fluid Extract, three times a day.

Too many women suffer period pains and discomfort when they needn’t do so, if only they would try herbs.

Sadly, doctors don’t recognize the value of herbs in many such cases. Otherwise they would be recommending herbs much of the time. They tend to rely on pain killers, or saying there is nothing that can be done: “..women have to put up with it.” If pushed, they too easily offer drug choices – such as the contraceptive pill or hormone replacement therapy, which have well know side-effects associated with them.

Herbs have been used for very many years for treating hormone imbalance. There is a good reason for this – they work!
